Biography

Nathalie Nahai is an oil painter, author, speaker and musician who works at the emergent edges of psychology, persuasive technology, society and the arts.

Born to a multilingual family of Iranian and European descent, her childhood experiences of plurality and peripherality ignited a longing to weave connection between seemingly distinct fields and cosmologies, a search that suffuses not only Nathalie’s painting and songwriting, but also her wider work in the world of AI, behavioural science and business.

Having trained from a young age in Suzuki violin, she later taught herself guitar and went on to record two folk albums in Atlanta (GA), following a BSc in Psychology and later, Fine Art at Central Saint Martins. Pursuing a path in music during her twenties, she learned how to design and develop websites, a trajectory which (combined with her background in human behaviour) led her to write what would become the business best-seller, “Webs Of Influence” (Pearson), and her more recent book, “Business Unusual.”

Following the success of her first book, Nathalie turned her stagecraft towards keynotes on persuasive technology, behavioural science and AI, aiming to redefine how companies can engage more ethically in business. She has hosted the Guardian Tech Weekly and “Reclaiming humanity in a digital age” for Advaya, and currently hosts her own podcast, In Conversation, which explores how we might flourish in times of turbulence and change (guests include Bayo Akomolafe, Manda Scott, Cory Doctorow, Jo Confino, Dr Ros Watts and more). She is also the presenter for Do Radio’s new show, “I am not creative”, a series that explores the vital spark of creativity with guests including Sam Lee, Michael Meade and Nora Bateson.

Alongside these projects, Nathalie is the music curator for THE HEAT and THE FIX, and she hosts occasional Flourishing Futures Salons - curated, facilitated gatherings in which strangers are invited to explore how we might collectively meet the challenges facing us today. With a lifelong love of the living world, Nathalie draws upon a rich shamanic practice in her art and music, and she is currently working on her first solo exhibition due to take place in London, Summer 2026. As part of this project, she is back in the studio recording a new album rooted in nature connection, folklore and animism, beauty and belonging.
